ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Colorado Avalanche get right back to it on Sunday night, just a day after playing against the Los Angeles Kings. For the 82nd and final game of the season, they go up against the already-eliminated Anaheim Ducks.
For both teams, it might just be a matter of going through the motions. Neither has much to play for except pride and two additional points in their season total.
Last Time Out for the Avalanche
The Avs come into this game off the back of a 5-4 loss to the aforementioned Kings at Crypto.com Arena. They were in the game for a bit, tied at two early in the second period. But after falling behind, they got within one with the net empty but were unable to find a second goal with the empty net.
Last Time Out for the Ducks
Anaheim plays in its final home game of the season and 80th of the year. They cannot wait for the year to end, despite taking a step up with an outside chance at the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a bit. They did get beaten handily against the same Kings team Colorado faced on Thursday night in a 6-1 final.
