The Colorado Avalanche will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets for a matinee battle at Ball Arena on Saturday. After a complete beat down over the Ottawa Senators by the Avs, they look for their next victim. Colorado has now won 16 straight home games while the injury train rolls into town. With the injuries to Gabriel Landeskog, Devon Toews, Joel Kiviranta and Mackenzie Blackwood, they will have to call someone from the Colorado Eagles up. TJ Tynan has been recalled to the Avalanche to fill the role on the four line. He is third in the AHL with 25 assists, but has only one goal to his credit this year.

Colorado Avalanche (32–4–7, 71 pts)

The Avalanche sought vengeance against the Ottawa Senators. Having lost two games straight for the first time since April 2025, Colorado needed to get back on track. And get back on track they did. Defenseman Josh Manson had two goals, two assists and a fight for one of his career-best games. Brock Nelson and Martin Necas got the power play on track for the Avalanche as they scored twice. Eleven Avalanche players would end the game with a point, including Nathan MacKinnon, who had four points himself. Even Samuel Girard got in on the fun with a knockout blow to forward Tim Stützle during the third period. This contest offered Colorado an opportunity to rebound. And they certainly did so.

Columbus Blue Jackets (18–18–7, 43 pts)

The Blue Jackets are in a unique situation. They have a .500 record and sit last in the Eastern Conference. On Thursday, they played the Vegas Golden Knights and lost 5–3. It was looking good for the Blue Jackets to start the game with goals in the first from Boone Jenner and Kent Johnson. But Vegas came screaming back with four unanswered goals. Two of the goals came from Reilly Smith, and one of the four was on the power play. Jet Greaves was in net for the Jackets but could only stop 21 of 26 shots on net. Despite the team having trouble winning games, Greaves sits at a 12–12–6 record.
