The NHL released the national broadcast schedule, and as usual, it features the Colorado Avalanche a lot. In the last few seasons, the national schedule has featured the Avs 17 or more times. After winning the President’s Trophy last season, Colorado remains one of the top contenders for the Stanley Cup. They will also play in their very first Winter Classic on December 31st against the Utah Mammoth. The Winter Classic is considered the marquis outdoor event for the NHL. The previous outdoor games for the Avalanche have always been part of the Stadium Series.

The national broadcast schedule this season will include 16 games for the Avalanche. Seven of the games will air on TNT (including the Winter Classic). Three games will be strictly on ESPN with another on ABC at the end of the year. The remaining five games will be broadcast on ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu. Fans will get to enjoy battles against the Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, Vegas Golden Knights and many others.

This will be the first year since the mid-1990s that the NHL will be back to an 84-game schedule. So it is shocking that the Avalanche do not have more games on the national broadcast schedule. This will still give fans 68 games to enjoy the crew from Altitude and cheer the Avs to the playoffs.
