Sometimes you can tell when chemistry is there with a coworker or not. In hockey, chemistry on and off the ice is one of the most important things to a team. During the informal skates that the Colorado Avalanche players are holding, that chemistry is already showing with a few new players. Former Nashville Predators Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L’Heureux are fitting right in with their new Avalanche teammates.
Chemistry on the ice
Svechkov and L’Heureux have attended Avalanche informal skates most days. Both of them have been sticking together. Which is understandable since they are new to the team. But L’Heureux has joked around a lot with the others like Brent Burns. The two were seen on Friday morning pushing each other around with huge smiles on their faces. Skills coach Mark Popovic has been teaching them the way the Avs play and answering any questions they have.
During drills, the two have tried to work with other players to get in the mix. Svechkov has shown us some shocking speed down the perimeter of the rink and a quick snapshot. L’Heureux on the other hand has been a rough and tumble player. He looks like he will power through opponents, which is exactly what the Avs need.
New Avs Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L'Heureux (both in burgundy) have been putting in the work every day. They are showing great chemistry with their new teammates already. Here Svechkov shows some great speed and an eye for the 5-hole. #Avs #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/dQ8Eggdltl

How the Avalanche will use them
A source close to the team has told us that Svechkov has been shopping for apartments in the Denver area. It sounds like Svechkov has been informed that he will be with the Avs most of the season. We predict he will be on the fourth-line with a chance to see time on the third. There is a slight chance he could see power-play minutes with the second unit as well.
L’Heureux is more of a bubble player that will be on the fourth-line. He plays a hard-hitting game that does not produce many points. The Canadian may see some time in Loveland with the Eagles, although it may not be much.
Both players will be a great addition to the Avalanche. And if they are already building chemistry a month before training camp, that makes it even better.
