The Colorado Eagles delivered good news from Loveland Monday morning. The Eagles underwent significant roster changes this summer, presenting a completely new lineup come the start of the season. Players appeared to leave in droves, but finally one decided to re-sign with the team again. On Monday morning, the Eagles announced that Maroš Jedlička re-signed with the club for the upcoming season. The former seventh-round draft pick by the Colorado Avalanche in 2023 will stick around for now.
Type of player Jedlička has become
Jedlička was drafted with the intent that he was going to score goals and shove his way to the front of the net. Naturally, he had to adapt his game to the American Hockey League. He has learned to use his size to his advantage, allowing him to knock players away from the puck. Jedlička can deliver thunderous hits to the opposing team that is never expecting them. He has become more of a power forward with stats that are not seen on the scoresheet. Unfortunately, several injuries have hampered Jedlička’s development. Additionally, he was out for almost an entire year with a shoulder injury suffered during an Avalanche preseason game.

What this does for the lineup
In the article that we published earlier on Monday morning, Marie had mentioned that the Eagles had too many veterans. The ideal situation would be that Vinnie Hinostroza would be with the Avalanche. But that may not be the case. If the Eagles have to take a veteran out of the lineup because of the Developmental Rule, then Jedlička could roll in. Despite entering his third season, his 46 AHL games still mean the Developmental Rule does not consider him a veteran. Jedlička would also be useful against teams that play a heavy-hitting game, like the San Jose Barracuda (SJS), Ontario Reign (LAK) and Henderson Silver Knights (VGK).

In the long run, the re-signing of Jedlička is a great thing for the Eagles. It will add depth to the lineup and weight when they need it. On the bright side, it will also keep his rights in the organization if the Avalanche decide to further develop him.
