On Tuesday, the Colorado Avalanche meet the Vancouver Canucks for their second meeting. Last time they played, Gavin Brindley scored the overtime-winning goal to secure his extension. Vancouver, which is suffering from a ton of injuries, will try to put up as much of a fight as they can against Colorado. Former Avalanche forward Kiefer Sherwood will be a player to watch as he always gets one or two points against his old team. The Avalanche could be missing a few players themselves as an illness has worked its way through the locker room.
Val Nichushkin will play tonight, per #GoAvsGo coach Jared Bednar. @MileHighSports

Colorado Avalanche (18β1β6 42pts)
The Avalanche played one of their better games against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday afternoon. Gabriel Landeskog scored twice, and he had one assist. Brock Nelson had his first four-point night since November 4, 2021, which was also against Montreal. Mackenzie Blackwood added his fifth win in six starts this season, allowing only two goals in the last three games. Heβs improved a lot and could get his starting role back on the Avalanche. The Battle of Quebec was a complete success for the Avalanche as they brought back the Nordiques jersey and Badaboum the sea otter.

Vancouver Canucks (10β13β3 23pts)
Vancouver battled it out with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday to a 2β1 overtime loss. AnΕΎe Kopitar opened the scoring for the Kings in the first with Evander Kane responding in the second. With a fresh contract, Adrian Kempe secured the game-winner in overtime for the Kings. Part of the issue for the Canucks this year has been injuries. They have six players on injured-reserve and two on long-term injured-reserve. Two of the eight are goalies, including the starting goaltender Thatcher Demko. The bottom-six has five AHL regulars on it, so the Canucks are struggling to keep their heads above water at the moment.
