There is not much left to the imagination with the entire kit. It is a modernized version of the uniform that the Quebec Nordiques wore during the 1991–95 seasons. The word “Nordiques” is translated to “Northerners.” The jersey will still include the fleur-de-lis, as well as the igloo, just like the Reverse Retro 1.0 did. It is a nod to the Quebec Provincial flag along with the powder blue and white. The name and the igloo represent the rugged landscape and northern climate of Quebec.

Thursday night will be the first time fans will get to see the new uniform official on the ice for the Avalanche. There are many rumors that the Carolina Hurricanes will wear their Hartford Whalers uniforms, making for a complete throwback. As of this writing, when the Avalanche visit the Hurricanes, according to their jersey schedule, Carolina will wear normal home jerseys. For the Vancouver Canucks game on April 1st, there has been nothing released about a white version of the Canucks alternate. But we will have to wait and see.

On November 29, we will see “The Battle of Quebec” come back to life. The two teams met 144 times between 1979 and 1995. They often saw the roughest and bloodiest games of the era. The two teams were only 160 miles apart and met five times in the playoffs. Montreal would win the overall series 79–53–12.
Jerseys will go on sale online on Tuesday at 10 a.m. MT and then at 12 noon in store at Ball Arena.
