Like several others in this series, Oskar Olausson played just a few games for the Colorado Avalanche. He spent most of his time in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles in Loveland.
With the Avalanche
The 22-year-old forward has finished up his fourth season as a part of the organization. He only played two games for the Avalanche this season, with zeroes across the board.

His two games came on January 2 against the Buffalo Sabres and January 4 against the Montreal Canadiens. He only had three shots in those two games and averaged 6:49 of ice time.
With the Eagles
He played in 61 regular-season games in Loveland. In those 61 games, he tallied 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points. This was slightly higher and better than his 20 points recorded last season. However, those 20 points came in only 39 games. He had shoulder surgery, which kept him out for most of the season last year.

He did participate in the Calder Cup Playoffs for the Eagles in their historic season. However, it was only in seven games that he got three assists.
In both the regular season and playoffs, Olausson found playing time hard to come by. Whether it was missing out through injury or simply being scratched, he missed out on ice time.
Olausson is one of the few remaining prospects in the Avalanche’s farm system. He was drafted in 2021, 28th overall. He’s been given few opportunities, with only four games in the NHL in his career. Meanwhile, his game in the AHL has been lacking at times.

However, with the cap crunch the Avs are sure to face heading into the 2025-26 season, Olausson may become more of an option. He is entering the final year of his entry-level contract. Therefore, he can be a cheap option in the bottom six.
But, he would need to step up his game big time and earn the roster spot for Opening Night. All things considered, this might be a make-or-break year for Olausson.
