It’s been known who the Colorado Avalanche would play for some time now in the playoffs. But, they still didn’t know if they’d have home-ice advantage or when the series would begin.
While the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs isn’t fully confirmed and scheduled yet, there are some rumored leaks. They now know they’ll be facing the Dallas Stars, with Dallas having the home-ice advantage in this rematch from the second round last year.
The rumor is the Avs and Stars will clash in Game One on Saturday night. The rumored puck drop is at 8:00 p.m. CT, making it a usual 7:00 p.m. MT start for fans at home in Colorado. National broadcast details are currently unknown, but Altitude TV will broadcast each game in the first round locally.
Hearing that Stars-Avalanche Game 1 will be Saturday night, as expected.
Sounding like it might be around an 8 p.m. CT start time.

What about the rest of the series?
As for the rest of the series schedule, it will likely come out at a later time. Particularly, beyond Game Four, the schedule will likely be determined at a later date depending on which series runs longer and which would draw more eyeballs compared to others. But with a little bit of guessing, there’s at least an idea when the games would take place.
Important to note, both the Avs and Stars’ neighbors in the building are in their own respective playoff races – the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks. Dallas needs to make it through to the dance via the play-in tournament, whereas the Nuggets have home-court advantage over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Denver will play Games One and Two on Saturday afternoon and Monday, respectively. The Avalanche would then likely play Games Three and Four next Wednesday and Friday, respectively.

The Stars could then have Games Five and Seven, respectively, the following Sunday and Thursday, ending on May 1. Meanwhile, Colorado could have Game Six sometime in between.
All of this is subject to change depending on what’s actually scheduled in both the NBA and NHL’s playoff formats. Nonetheless, it’s the best guess out there at the moment of when the Avs and Stars would play in what’s sure to be a competitive rematch.
