DENVER — The Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights battle for the last time on Tuesday night. The Avalanche are only one win away from the 100 point mark, a feat that they could reach for the fourth straight year. Colorado is coming off a devastating loss to St. Louis while the Golden Knights have won their last two games. This will be just the beginning for the Avalanche, as they end the season with four straight with four straight Pacific Division opponents.

Colorado Avalanche (47– 27– 4)

On Saturday, Colorado wrapped up their road trip with a battle against the St. Louis Blues that fell short in the third period. The Blues came out hot, scoring the four times before the Avalanche found the back of the net. Colorado failed to convert on the power play three times in the first period. Relying only on depth scoring rather than special teams scoring cost the Avalanche the victory. Ross Colton broke the barrier with just five minutes left in the second. This left very little time for the Avs to respond as the Blues gained their 12th straight victory.

Vancouver did not put many shots on the net, but the Golden Knights threw everything they could on Kevin Lankinen. Ivan Barbashev netted his 21st goal of the season to get the scoring going for Vegas. Their depth contributed as well when Victor Olofsson scored his 14th of the season for the game winner. Vegas failed to convert twice on the power play, but walked home with 3–2 victory.
