The Colorado Avalanche look to control their recent slide as the Philadelphia Flyers come to town on Friday night. As the Flyers are 3–5–2 in their last 10, they will look to take advantage of the Avalanche’s recent struggles. The Flyers’ star Trevor Zegras has a little dip in his production, netting only four goals in the last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Avs could see the return of Joel Kiviranta, who has been out the last 10 games because of a lower-body injury. Fans could also see the return of defenseman Devon Toews, who has missed the last eight games. Unfortunately, Ross Colton will be out of the lineup with a lower-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.

Colorado Avalanche (34–5–9, 77 pts)

The Avalanche lost to their potential first-round opponent in a shootout to the Anaheim Ducks. It leaves the series split at one game apiece, with the last game set for March 3rd. The Avalanche are on a bit of a slide, having lost two of their last three games (all at home). The game against the Ducks on Wednesday was a snoozer, with loose play from the Avs’ defense. No one would see the back of the net until the second period when Jeffrey Viel threw the puck past Scott Wedgewood. Artturi Lehkonen answered late in the third to send it to a shootout. Mikael Granlund and Cutter Gauthier were the only players to find the net and win it 2–1 for the Ducks.

Philadelphia Flyers (23–17–9, 55 pts)

The Flyers are in a tough stretch as they have lost six of their last seven games. Sitting just three points out of the Wild Card, every point counts for them right now. On Wednesday night, they played the Utah Mammoth and lost in overtime 5–4. The Flyers gave up a three-goal lead that they had established in the first and second periods. The Mammoth came charging back with two goals in the third to send it to overtime. Clayton Keller netted the game-winner with his second goal of the game.
