The Colorado Avalanche head to the Bay Area to take on the San Jose Sharks for the first time this season. Last season, the Avalanche played the Sharks three times and were victorious in every game. Avalanche. Taylor Makar was called-up late on Friday night and very well could make his NHL debut alongside his brother Cale. The Sharks are on a hot streak, having won three of their last five games. But the Avalanche have recovered nicely since last weekend, winning against New Jersey and Vegas this week.
Taylor Makar has been recalled by the Colorado Avalanche from the Eagles. In 9 games he has 1 goal and 3 assists. #Avs #GoAvsGoβ―β―β― #EaglesCountry

Colorado Avalanche (7β1β4)
The Avalanche played probably their best game of the year on Friday afternoon against the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite having six power plays throughout the game, Colorado would take a 4β2 victory out of the game. Martin Necas started the game with a goal in the first minute. Brock Nelson, Cale Makar would all add goals to the mix as well. Brent Burns finally netted his first in an Avalanche sweater, passing Bobby Orr for 11th all-time for NHL defensemen. Fans will see the season debut of Mackenzie Blackwood as he starts for the first time after his return from injury. A big concern is that Gavin Brindley did not finish the second period on Friday.

San Jose Sharks (3β6β2)
The Sharks have had a tough start to the season, losing six straight games to open up the season. All three of their wins have come in the last week, and two of them were in overtime. On Thursday, the Sharks took down the New Jersey Devils 5β2, just the third team to do so this year. The other two were the Avalanche on Tuesday and Carolina in game one. The goals for the Sharks came from five different goal scorers, and all at even strength. It was a solid performance from Alex Nedeljkovic as he stopped 29 of 31 shots on goal. The Sharks are finding their way in open waters and could be something to watch out for.
