Ivan Ivan
Ivan Ivan hails from Ostrava, Czechia. He has been with the Avalanche since March 5, 2024. Since then, he has played 49 games for the Avalanche, accruing five goals and four assists in that time. He also played 169 games with the Colorado Eagles, where he scored 25 goals and 44 assists.
This is a tremendous loss for the Eagles. In the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs, Ivan ranked second for the Eagles in points with three goals and 12 assists. He tied for first in assists with T.J. Tynan. Ivan’s line, dubbed the “Chaos Line”, included Chase Bradley and Jason Polin. They were arguably the Eagles’ best line through the playoffs, not only scoring goals but driving play and winning board battles. In the playoffs alone, their line registered three game-winning goals. This dynamic line has now been demolished, with Bradley recently traded to Nashville and Polin an unrestricted free agent.
Fabian Lysell
In exchange for Ivan, the Avalanche received forward Fabian Lysell. The Bruins originally drafted Lysell in the first round as the 21st overall pick in 2021. Lysell, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, is 23-years-old. The Swede is 5-foot-11 and weighs 185 pounds. He has played in 219 regular-season AHL games, scoring 57 goals and 106 assists with the Providence Bruins. He has three extra assists from AHL playoff games. In the 2025–26 season, he registered 17 goals and 25 assists in 57 regular-season contests. The forward ranked sixth in scoring on a Providence team that won the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy for having the best record in the AHL. He also played 12 NHL games with the Boston Bruins in 2024–25, scoring one goal and two assists.

Lysell is primarily known for his elite skating, with an ability to spin away from defenders, evade checks, and maneuver cleanly through traffic. He is also a gifted playmaker who sees the ice well and threads passes through layers of defense. He possesses excellent stick-handling skills, protecting the puck on his outside hip while skating through tight spaces.
Losing Ivan (and the rest of his amazing line) is a big blow for the Eagles. But Fabian Lysell’s speed and skill will fit well with Colorado’s dynamic style of play. One big issue lies with that Lysell will be a restricted free agent on July 1st. Ivan was supposed to be as well, but would have had arbitration rights.
