Artturi Lehkonen continues to be a bright light for the Colorado Avalanche. His 2024-25 season was no different.
Lehkonen missed the first month of the season recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. Once he returned on November 5 against the Seattle Kraken, it was like he never left.
He recorded a goal and an assist in the game. It started a string of six points in six games. In 69 total games, he scored a career high of 27 goals and 18 assists for 45 total points. He also led the team in plus/minus at +36.

Not included in this was his first career shootout goal. He also recorded his first career hat trick against the then-Utah Hockey Club on December 27.
Lehkonen scored five game-winning goals, the most of his career. He did all this while averaging over 20 minutes a night. In the playoffs, he tacked on three goals and an assist.
The 30-year-old Finnish forward had a great year, especially stepping up after Mikko Rantanen was traded away to the Carolina Hurricanes. He found himself consistently playing in the top six with a good mix of players and continued performing nonetheless.

Lehkonen would link back up with his former teammate in Rantanen, as both represented Team Finland in the Four Nations Face-Off. While Finland struggled with injury and only won one of their three games, Lehkonen did have an assist in the tournament.
With lots of changes in the lineup, Lehkonen has been a steady and calm figure in the side. He only has two more years left on his current contract with a $4.5 million AAV and a 12-team modified no-trade clause.
With the return of Gabriel Landeskog and at least one more year of Martin Necas, Artturi Lehkonen will look to continue his great play-making ability, flexibility, and rack up more points. He’ll look to do so for at least two more years before a big payday sure to test the Avs.
