CENTENINAL, Colo. — The Colorado Avalanche has had a few days to sit back and relax after the win against the Minnesota Wild. Colorado has been at the Family Sports Center doing short practices over the last few days. Since February 4th, defenseman Josh Manson has been out with an injury. Until last week Manson had been skating on his own, but joined the team on Sunday. The coaching staff has said that he is on the mend and could return to the lineup during this homestand.
Josh Manson is joining the group for the skate once again this morning. There is a possibility that he could be back during this homestand. #Avs #GoAvsGo @MileHighHockey pic.twitter.com/FpJqwbh2OW

Meanwhile, Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vessey have joined the Avalanche from the trade with the New York Rangers. Lindgren has shown an eagerness to learn, asking questions at every opportunity he can. Vessey has been more accommodating, playing on the fourth line yesterday and first line today. Both of the fresh additions will see time on the penalty kill and bottom part of the lineup.
One thing I have noticed since Ryan Lindgren has shown up is that he is not afraid to ask questions. He has taken time between each drill to break down what he just did and understand it all. #Avs #GoAvsGo @MileHighHockey

One thing that is not really shocking is that Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar are taking advantage of the long break. Both did not skate on Monday morning, with Martin Nečas taking MacKinnon’s role on the top line. Vessey and Artturi Lehkonen would flank Nečas on the wings.
Vesey does a great job of putting pressure on the points here to force a bad shot. #Avs #GoAvsGo @MileHighHockey pic.twitter.com/iIhh3xQEs5

Lindgren looks like he can push the forwards out to the wall pretty well. He steals the puck from Drury at the start with little trouble. #Avs #GoAvsGo @MileHighHockey pic.twitter.com/Scc8luyr0z
