WINDSOR, Colo. — The Colorado Eagles have made their first move of the offseason and it has been just over a week. The Eagles have brought back forward Jake Wise for the 2025–26 season.

Last season, Wise joined the Eagles after being brought on for a professional tryout on October 29, 2024. During his tryout of six games, he had five points in the span. It was enough to earn him a full-time spot on the roster for the rest of the year. Wise became one of the most important players on the team. He could play in every situation. He was most dangerous on the power play, where he had two goals throughout the season. It was his ability to set up the play that made him the most dangerous. Wise could see passes and set up players when the other team was least expecting it.

Wise had a career year, despite getting a late start with the Eagles. He reported to the Ontario Reign (LAK) camp, but they released him without him ever playing a game. After playing for both the Chicago Wolves (independent last season) and Charlotte Checkers, he tallied only seven goals and 14 assists. This season was completely different. Wise knew his spot was secure, so it helped him get comfortable with his teammates. With the Eagles Wise tallied 16 goals and 19 assists, both career highs. He would add two more goals in eight games during the playoffs as well.

Colorado expects their Naples, Florida native, to be a top-six player, contributing to both the power play and penalty kill. The Eagles are starting the summer off on a pleasant note with this re-signing and will try to pick up where they left off in the playoffs. The team set a goal this last season. It was to win, and Wise will certainly help do that.
